4/15/2025 Wounds from the PastOne of my clients is a brilliant HR professional.
She’s done director-level work. She’s smart, capable, and known for getting things done to a high standard 🌟 But a toxic ☠️ work environment left its mark. In her new role—where no one is treating her poorly—she’s still carrying the fear. She told me: • “I feel anxious all the time.” • “I’m scared I’ll mess up even simple tasks.” • “I keep thinking I’ll get fired, even though I’ve done this work before.” This is how trauma from a toxic environment shows up. Your body goes into survival mode. Your brain 🧠 starts scanning for danger ⚠️ even when you’re safe. Your belief in yourself starts to erode, even when your skills haven’t gone anywhere. In coaching, we don’t just say “you’ve got this.” We use tools to actually shift the experience: • Thought work to rewire the fearful story playing on repeat • Emotional regulation techniques to calm anxiety in the moment • Identity work to rebuild self-trust and confidence from the inside out • Planning strategies that prevent overwhelm and support follow-through And from an Islamic lens: We remember that the only One who can truly give or take anything is Allah. The fear of being fired, making a mistake, or not being good enough—these are whispers, internal noise that feels loud but holds no real power unless we give it attention. The goal isn’t to never feel fear. The goal is to move forward with tawakkul (trust), ’ilm (knowledge), and tools that align with who you want to be. If you’re still carrying wounds from your past- I’m offering free consultations to help you get clear, grounded, and confident again.
