2/12/2026 Why me?“Why me?”
When something happens that you didn’t want, a setback, a rejection, a delay, a hard conversation the brain almost instantly goes: Why me? Why is this happening to me? Most people stop there and spiral in their thoughts and feel like the victim to their own life. And that’s where the suffering multiplies. Don’t just ask “why me?” Answer it on purpose. How you interpret what happens to you determines how fast and how powerfully you recover. Instead of: • “Why does this always happen to me?” • “What’s wrong with me?” • “Maybe this means I shouldn’t try” Ask yourself: • “Why might this be happening for me?” • “What is this strengthening in me?” • “Who am I becoming by handling this well?” Allah ﷻ tells us: “Do people think they will be left alone because they say ‘we believe’ and will not be tested?” (Qur’an 29:2) Tests are not random. They are not punishments by default. And they are never evidence that Allah has abandoned you. Sometimes “why me?” is answered with: • Because Allah is refining you • Because you’re being prepared for a role you can’t see yet • Because this difficulty will soften you, strengthen you, or redirect you • Because your response will elevate you in ways ease never could The question is never just why did this happen? The real question is: Who will I be because of it? If you’re in a season where your brain keeps looping on why me and you want help recovering well, regulating your emotions, and choosing interpretations that actually serve you I offer a free one on one consultation.
