5/12/2025 What's your time management style?Did anyone ever actually teach you time ⏱️ management?
Not in a “here’s a planner” 📒 way… But in a way that’s personalized to how your brain works? Most of us were taught time management like this: “Here’s a list of things to do. Now go sit still and finish it all in one go.” 📋 Usually in a classroom. For hours. With no regard for how different brains and learners operate. So when someone couldn’t sit for hours and power through like others, the message was: “You’re not productive enough. You’re not disciplined enough. You’re not trying hard enough.” But what if the problem isn’t you? What if it’s the method that’s not the right fit? Time management isn’t one-size-fits-all. There are different styles—and your job is to find the one that fits you. Some people thrive with the Pomodoro technique: 25 mins of focus, 5 mins break. Others do better with time blocking: structuring your day into chunks by task or type of work. The second method works for me, and I’ve found I can do deep work for an hour, take a 20-minute break, then dive in again for another hour. That rhythm feels good in my body and brain. Islam is incredibly disciplined with time. Our days are structured around five daily prayers —each with its own time window, each pulling us back to purpose, each a reset. It’s the original time management system. We just were never taught to apply that same mindset to the rest of our day. If time always feels like it’s slipping away from you…⌛️ If you’re trying to be productive but your system isn’t working…coaching can help you figure out your time personality and what adjustments can help you finally get your rhythm back.
