What memories would you keep?

If you lost your memory today and you had the chance to tell yourself only what you wanted to remember what would you write?

What would you want your future self to believe about who you are?

This is one of my favorite mindset exercises because it shows you how most people aren’t held back by a lack of ability.

They’re held back by a story.

A story their brain created from past experiences.

Maybe you failed once, so your brain concluded, “I can’t trust myself.”

Maybe someone rejected you, so your brain decided, “I’m not good enough.”

Maybe you made a mistake, and now your brain offers, “I always mess things up.”

Your brain treats those moments as evidence. It builds an identity around them.

If your thought is, “I’m not capable,” your brain will constantly look for proof that it’s true.

The stories we keep rehearsing become the ceiling on our lives. We keep recreating the same results because we keep believing the same narrative.

But you don’t have to keep every memory or every interpretation.

The event happened.

The meaning you gave it is optional.

So imagine writing a letter to yourself as if you had forgotten everything.

What would you want yourself to remember?

* That you can learn anything.
* That mistakes are part of growth, not proof of failure.
* That your worth isn’t something you earn, it’s something you already have because Allah created you with honor.
* That Allah opens doors no one can close.
* That your past doesn’t define your future.
* That you can trust yourself to make decisions, adjust, and keep moving.
* That courage comes before confidence.

And what would you intentionally leave out?

The old labels.

The limiting beliefs.

The criticism.

The shame.

The stories that never served you.

If you could build your mindset from the ground up, what beliefs would you choose?

Because the quality of your life will never rise above the quality of the story you believe about yourself.

If you’re ready to rewrite that story and build a mind and identity rooted in truth, growth, and trust in Allah, I’d love to help.

Let’s uncover the beliefs that are holding you back and replace them with ones that move you toward the life Allah has made possible for you.
