1/2/2026 Value your strengthsSo many people dismiss the very thing they’re naturally good at.
Your brain says: “It’s basic.” “Anyone can do that.” “That doesn’t count.” But that’s exactly how the brain works, it downplays your strengths because they feel easy to you. One of the first things we work on in coaching, when we’re finding your purpose, is identifying those skills you brush off as “not a big deal” and putting a spotlight on them. Because ease ≠ insignificance. Ease often means mastery. Your brain will always normalize your strengths. We undervalue what comes naturally to us, even when it’s the very thing that creates the biggest impact. The work isn’t just identifying the skill. The work is: • Seeing if you actually enjoy using it • Letting yourself focus on it without guilt or dismissal • And then making the identity shift from “this is just who I am” to “This is something I could build something meaningful with” When your identity shifts, possibility opens up. You stop asking “Who am I to do this?” And start asking “What could I create if I followed this?” That’s where purpose gets clear. If you’ve been feeling stuck, confused, or like you’re “average” it’s usually not because you lack ability. It’s because your brain is hiding it from you.
