7/27/2025 The one willing to do the workMost people think healing a relationship takes two people.
But my client learned it only takes one—the one willing to do the work. She used to have a tense relationship with her mother. Every conversation ended in an argument. The kind where your whole body feels like it’s vibrating and you’re exhausted for hours after. In coaching, we worked on this: ✨ “You’re the only one who needs to change.” Not because the other person is perfect. But because when you focus on controlling your reactions, not the other person, everything shifts. At first, her brain resisted. “No way. It takes two. She needs to change too.” But we kept working. This week, she told me what happened. Her mom asked something in front of her aunt. My client said, “I’m staying out of this.” Her mom exploded. Accused her. Yelled. But this time… no reaction. Her body was calm. The usual screaming match never came. She simply said: “Mom, you’re a grown woman. You don’t need anyone’s permission to live your life. Not my aunt’s or anyone else.” Her mom stayed upset. But my client didn’t take it personally. She saw why her mom was reacting because she didn’t want to upset her own sister. She had compassion without collapsing. The next day, her mom bought her favorite ice cream. No apology. Just, “Look, I got you what you like.” And that was enough. No big talk needed. My client received it with grace. That was the repair. That was love. That’s the power of coaching. Tangible. Measurable. Real-life results. Yes, we work on dreams, careers, clarity. But it always comes back to: 💫 Who are you being? 💫 Where is your power? 💫 Are you living in a way that pleases Allah? If you want to change your life—start with you. That’s where your power is. And that’s what I help my clients access. I offer a free one hour consultation. Let’s talk about what could change for you when you finally put yourself in the driver’s seat.
