8/7/2025 The inner work comes firstWe’ve been trained to treat symptoms instead of the root.
Feeling unfulfilled? We tend to: 🧘♀️Start a new workout 🛍️Buy new clothes 🏡Redecorate the house ✈️Book a trip And listen — all of those can be great. But none of them fix what’s actually going on inside. I say that with full honesty because I’ve done it myself. I once went on a whole month-long backpacking 🎒trip thinking it would help me figure things out. It didn’t. I came back with cool pictures 📸… and the same confusion. We’ve been taught to change the external. But Islam teaches us to start with the internal. “Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh which, if it is sound, the whole body is sound…” (Bukhari & Muslim) That piece is the heart. That’s where the real work begins. Here’s how I like to think of it: 🥛Your inner work is the glass. 🌊 Your outer efforts are the water. If you don’t have the glass, the water feels nice… for a second. But then it spills. You’re left empty. So you chase the next thing. And the next. Still unfulfilled. But when you build the glass — when you strengthen what’s within -- The water is held. You get to enjoy the workouts, the clothes, the trips, the decor. They add to your fulfillment instead of becoming a desperate attempt to find it. This is the work I do with my clients. We clean the inner space. We build the container. We finally stop chasing and start living. ✨ If you’re ready to stop pouring water on the floor and build your glass first — I’d love to support you.
