10/3/2025 Struggling to keep motivation?Yesterday someone messaged me: “I am currently struggling to keep my motivation due to personal issues.” Here’s what I told her: It’s not your situation. It’s not your personal circumstances. It’s your brain. And that can feel confronting—because suddenly, you can’t keep blaming everything outside of you. Your brain hates being blamed. It wants to keep you focused on the job, the family, the money, the past… anything but itself. But the truth is, motivation doesn’t come from perfect circumstances. It comes from how you manage your mind. So let me ask you the question that changes everything: 👉 Are you responsible for your life? It’s a simple yes or no. If your answer is no, then your brain has you right where it wants you: stuck, blaming, and helpless. That’s victim mode. Nothing changes there. If your answer is yes, then you can start directing your brain instead of being directed by it. You can take ownership and build the life you want. And this isn’t just coaching talk. Allah tells us in the Qur’an: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (13:11) That’s responsibility. That’s agency. It means doing your part with the tools Allah has given you and trusting Him with the outcome. So—are you ready to stop letting your brain run the show? Together, we’ll uncover how your brain is blocking you and how you can start taking full responsibility to create change, insha’Allah.
