Scary financial goals

One of my clients has a financial goal she wants to hit this summer.

As we talked about the number, I noticed something happen.

Before we even got into strategy, her body started responding.

Tension.

Stress.

Insecurity.

Her brain immediately began offering thoughts like:

“What if I can’t do it?”

“What if I don’t make enough?”

“What if I fail?”

And this is where so many people get stuck.

Not because they lack the ability to make money.

But because they confuse a temporary feeling of insecurity with evidence about their future.

Neuroscience tells us that the brain is designed to scan for threats and uncertainties. When there is a gap between where we are and where we want to be, the brain often interprets that gap as danger.

But a feeling is not a fact.

A feeling is simply a vibration in the body created by a thought.

It is information.

Not prophecy.

The drama we experience around money comes from the meaning we’re attaching to it.

When you have a money challenge for yourself the goal isn’t to feel confident first.

The goal is to keep taking revenue-generating actions while your brain is having a panic attack about the outcome.

Because capacity is built by doing.

Not by waiting to feel ready.

Our provision comes from Allah.

But Allah also commands us to do our part and take action.

We are responsible for effort.

Not outcomes.

When we become emotionally attached to a specific outcome, we suffer.

When we focus on taking the next right action and trust Allah with the results, we create peace.

The question isn’t:

“Can I guarantee I’ll make this amount of money?”

The question is:

“Can I increase my capacity to tolerate uncertainty while continuing to show up and do the work?”

Because the people who consistently create results aren’t necessarily the people who feel the most secure.

They’re the ones who keep moving while insecurity is sitting in the passenger seat.

If you’re feeling stuck between where you are financially and where you’d like to be, I’d love to help.
