In Juz 7, Allah says:
“And say, ‘Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do.’” (5:105) This ayah can feel intimidating—Allah is watching everything we do, and one day, we will be held accountable for it. For many, this fear of making a mistake or choosing the ‘wrong’ path leads to inaction. We overthink, hesitate, and wait for certainty before moving forward. But the goal isn’t to be paralyzed by fear—it’s to align our intentions with what Allah wants and take action step by step. The reality is, we will be shown what we used to do. And when that moment comes, we want to see a record filled with good—acts of worship, efforts to improve, and the courage to use our resources and privileges to benefit others. Allah placed you on this earth at this exact time for a reason. You have unique gifts, strengths, and a purpose that is meant to be shared with the world. Playing small or hiding your potential doesn’t serve you or anyone else. You are capable of more, and you can be in full alignment with why you are here—so that when you stand before Allah, you can proudly answer for how you used what He gave you. What’s one step you can take today to ensure what you “used to do” is something you’ll be proud of?
