One of my favorite ayahs in the Qur’an is Surah An-Naml (27:88):
“And you see the mountains, thinking them to be solid, while they pass as the clouds pass. [Such is] the work of Allah, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with what you do.” I have this ayah framed in my living room as a reminder that things are not always as they seem. What we assume to be fixed and immovable—whether it’s mountains, circumstances, or even parts of ourselves—are actually in motion, shifting in ways we may not realize. Clients come to me believing their struggles are set in stone. “I’m not the kind of person who can do that.” “This is just how life is for me.” But with the right approach, they start to see movement where they thought there was none. The beliefs that once felt immovable begin to shift, opening up new possibilities. How do you shift your reality? Step 1: Question whether what you think is actually true. Step 2: Take the smallest possible action in the direction you want to go. This tiny action will be manageable and will spark momentum that makes bigger steps easier. Step 3: Observe and embody the result that comes from that small action. Seeing the shift firsthand will open your eyes to what’s possible. When I first started my coaching business, I had to challenge my own thoughts. I believed I was a good student and employee, but I didn’t think I could make money as a business owner. I couldn’t just jump to “Yes, I believe!”—that felt too far away. So, I took a small action. I started networking and introducing myself as a life coach. The more I said it to new people who never knew me before, the more real it became. Selling a full coaching package felt impossible at first, so I started by selling just one session. When I sold my first session and got paid, my mind was blown. That tiny step—making my first-ever dollars as a life coach—catapulted me into new levels of belief. That little spark ignited the fire 🔥 But I had grace with myself. I took it step by step, and that’s what allowed my brain 🧠 to adapt and adjust to this new identity—one small shift at a time.
