6/13/2025 Plant the seed“Even if the Day of Judgment were upon you and you had a seed in your hand, plant it.”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ As the next level of a rogue settler-colonial project expands its violence into Iran, it’s easy to feel powerless. The Ummah is at a weak point. But the seeds we plant today can change the future. Just like ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Dākhil—the last surviving member of the Umayyad dynasty who fled the fall of his family’s rule, swam to Spain, and laid the foundation for Al-Andalus—a state of stunning scholarship and justice that lasted 850 years and was the most powerful and advanced society in the world. He had nothing. He rebuilt everything. When the world feels like it’s burning, we still plant seeds. We show up. We transform. We lead ourselves. Because the most powerful act of resistance is becoming who Allah created us to be. “When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world. But I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found I couldn’t change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family. Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself. And suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation. And I could indeed have changed the world.” Anonymous So if you’re wondering what you can do today… Start with yourself. And from there, you’ll light up everything around you. If you want help becoming the woman who plants seeds—even in chaos— let’s do this work together.
