11/14/2025 Money aversionOne of my clients recently uncovered something powerful about her money aversion.
She loves learning about success. She loves dreaming big. But when it came to actually looking at the numbers, her brain shut down. Total avoidance. And when we explored it together, we discovered that she grew up in a family where the moment you started making money, people expected things from you. Guilting you into buying things… contributing to things… saying yes to things you didn’t actually want to do. Not because they needed it—but because it was the “family expectation.” So of course her brain learned: More money = more pressure, more guilt, more problems. No wonder she avoided it. When your purpose is meant to be monetized, this internal conflict becomes exhausting. You want to grow. You want to earn. You want to succeed. But your nervous system is screaming: Protect yourself. So in our session, we walked through every scenario her brain feared. We talked about the past. We talked about her boundaries. We asked: What would values-aligned money stewardship look like for you now? And her whole system calmed down. By the end, she wasn’t afraid of her goals anymore. She was excited to meet them—without betraying herself, her values, or her deen. Muslim women are allowed to make money. We’re allowed to build wealth. We’re allowed to pursue the purposes Allah planted inside of us—without the guilt of other people’s expectations. If you’ve been avoiding your purpose or your money goals because of old stories, do the work to clear your path. 🗓️ The deadline to schedule your free consultation for my Purpose Program is November 17 — so you can step into the new year with direction, clarity and purpose.
