7/5/2026 Is it worth your health?Have you ever asked yourself:
“Is this goal worth sacrificing my physical and mental health?” My answer is no. No promotion. No business. No degree. No achievement. Nothing is worth losing yourself for. If pursuing your goal is leaving you constantly anxious, exhausted, burned out, disconnected from your family and friends, or neglecting your health, don’t automatically assume the answer is to quit. First, check two things. 1. Is this goal truly yours? Or are you chasing it because your family expects it? Because society says it’s impressive? Because you’re trying to prove your worth? Because you’re seeking validation from other people? If it’s not your dream, no amount of mindset work will make your soul come alive pursuing someone else’s definition of success. The pivot isn’t in your work ethic. It’s in your direction. 2. If this is your purpose, are you pursuing it in a sustainable way? Your results aren’t created by working yourself into the ground. They’re created by the thoughts driving your actions. Many high achievers secretly believe: * “Rest is laziness.” * “I have to sacrifice everything to succeed.” * “I’ll be happy once I get there.” Those beliefs create hustle, urgency, and burnout not sustainable success. Building something meaningful requires becoming the kind of person who can sustain it for years, not just survive it for a few months. Separate the circumstance from the story your brain is telling you. The goal isn’t causing your suffering. Your thoughts about how you must achieve it are. Allah never asks us to destroy ourselves in pursuit of provision or purpose. He is the One who provides the opportunities, the strength, and the outcome. You don’t have to choose between your purpose and your well-being. You simply need a healthier way to pursue the right goal or the courage to let go of the wrong one.
