4/13/2025 Imposter SyndromeOne of my clients asked to me what to do about:
“trying to impress my coworkers as a way to hide my imposter syndrome.” That one sentence holds so much. This is what imposter syndrome often actually looks like-- Not freezing. Not avoiding. But constantly performing. Working harder, saying yes to everything, chasing the next thing to prove you’re worthy—because deep down, you’re scared someone might figure out you’re not as capable as they think. But here’s the thing: Imposter syndrome isn’t a fact. It’s a thought error. It feels true because your brain has rehearsed that story a thousand times. But it’s not the truth of who you are. And if you stay in that space, you’ll keep spinning in anxiety and self-doubt—no matter how smart, experienced, or accomplished you are. But when you start doing the deep work—when you get coached on it—you realize: It was never about your capabilities. It was always about the lens you were seeing yourself through. And from an Islamic lens, your worth isn’t up for debate. It doesn’t hinge on how perfectly you perform. It comes from Allah (SWT). It’s built-in. The shift happens when you stop outsourcing your value and start seeing yourself the way Allah already does. This is the power of 1:1 coaching. You don’t just get new thoughts—you get a new self-concept. Grounded. Peaceful. True. If this speaks to you, I offer free consultations—just a space to explore what’s really going on and whether coaching is the right next step for you.
