Imam Al-Ghazali said:
“Know that the key to happiness is self-discipline, and the key to self-discipline is perseverance in striving to perfect yourself.” This is about the act of striving towards self improvement and becoming overall better version of ourselves. It’s through the effort of trying to reach for that better version of ourselves that we continue to improve and level up. It reminds me of the first time I invested in myself through 1:1 coaching. I was stuck. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I was unfulfilled in my law career, even though, on paper, I was doing well. But deep down, I knew something needed to change. When I came across coaching, I was hesitant and scared. Am I really going to invest in 1:1 coaching for myself? It felt like a lot. Outside of school and college tuition, I’d never directly invested in myself like that. Sure, I’d bought online courses and programs, but never something as focused and personalized as 1:1 coaching. Then I realized this: compared to all the educational investments I’d made in the past, this was just a tiny fraction. And yet, this investment was for me—not for a degree, not for grades, but for my personal growth and fulfillment. So, I went for it. And honestly? It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself—and continue to do. For the first time in my life, I had the space to voice my thoughts and emotions, to work through the confusion and lack of fulfillment. Coaching helped me see through the fog, figure out exactly what I wanted, and create a path to go for it. If you’re stuck where I was—knowing something needs to change but unsure how to take the first step—I want to tell you that investing in yourself is worth it. When you commit to your growth, you’ll love the version of yourself that emerges—someone more capable, purposeful, and aligned with your values and potential.
