3/26/2026 Getting SickYou have goals. Plans. Momentum.
And then you get sick. Your body slows down. Your energy disappears. And suddenly you can’t do the things you told yourself you would. This is where most people go wrong, not in the sickness, but in the thinking that follows. Our results come from our thoughts, not our circumstances. Being sick is the circumstance. But thoughts like: • “I’m falling behind” • “This is ruining everything” • “I’ll never catch up” create stress, guilt, and resistance on top of an already struggling body. You don’t build success by pushing through exhaustion. You build it by becoming someone who knows how to respond to reality well. So what does that look like? It might sound like: • “My body needs support right now, and that’s productive.” • “Resting is part of how I stay consistent long-term.” • “I trust myself to pick back up when I’m better.” Same circumstance. Completely different experience. The woman who panics, spirals, and pressures herself when she’s sick… creates burnout and inconsistency. The people who support themselves, regulate their mind, and honors their body create sustainability, trust, and long-term results. Especially as Muslims, we’re taught that our bodies are an amanah (trust from Allah). Taking care of it isn’t falling off track, it is the path. You’re not behind. You’re being invited to become someone who can navigate life as it actually is, not just when it’s convenient.
