1/13/2025 Fear of wasting time & moneyIt’s not that we don’t have the money—it’s that we don’t want to waste it.
It’s not that we don’t have the time—it’s that we don’t want to waste it. When we say, “I don’t have the time” or “I don’t have the money,” what we’re often really saying is, “I’m not sure this is worth it.” Our brains are designed to protect us. The prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for decision-making, is constantly evaluating whether the energy, time, or money we put into something will give us the outcome we want. It’s a built-in survival mechanism to avoid unnecessary loss. But sometimes, this caution keeps us stuck. Instead of asking, “Will this waste my time or money?” we should be asking: • What’s the cost of staying where I am? • What’s the potential return on this investment? • How will this help me grow into the person I want to be? Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Qur’an: “And whatever you spend of good – it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:272) When you invest in yourself with the right intention, that investment is never wasted. Whether it’s your time, your money, or your effort, it can become a source of barakah (blessings) and transformation. Coaching is an investment you can make for yourself—because it’s about clarity, direction, and unlocking your potential. It’s about taking the time and resources you do have and using them in a way that aligns with your values and goals. You’re worth the investment.
