6/9/2025 Don't trust your brainI was taught to trust my brain 🧠
“Use logic” sounded logical, it had to be right. And for years, I bought into that. “This makes sense.” ☑️ “That doesn’t.” ❌ “Be rational.” ➕➖ “Use logic.” 🤔 Until I learned what my brain was actually doing. Not trying to help me find the “best” decision. Not trying to help me grow. Its main goal? Protection. Efficiency. Minimum effort. Neuroscience shows us that the brain is designed to keep us safe—which really just means: Keep things the same. So when I started thinking about becoming a coach, my brain immediately shut it down: “You’re not business-like.” “You’re not going to make money.” “This isn’t who you are.” And because my brain said it in a matter-of-fact voice, I believed it. I thought these are actual facts. Thankfully, I was working with a coach at the time she helped me see those thoughts for what they were: Protective. Not facts. My brain was trying to keep me from disappointment. From wasted effort. From change. But that protection was keeping me stuck. What helped me break through wasn’t more logic. It was tapping into something deeper—what Allah placed in my heart. Because Islamically, we’re taught the qalb (heart) is where clarity and guidance live. Not the mind. And I’m so glad I listened to my heart. Because my brain that told me, “You could never make money outside of a job,” was completely wrong. Now, I feel deeply fulfilled. I know I’m making a real impact on my clients. And yes—I’m running a business that aligns with my values and identity. If you have thoughts that sound true but you still feel stuck and not where you want to be I want to invite you to a free consultation. A chance to look at what’s going on in your brain—and what your heart is trying to say. You don’t have to stay stuck. Especially not when the thing keeping you stuck might just be a trick of the mind. Email me to book your free consultation call 📞 [email protected] Salam 👋🏽, I’m Meha, a life & purpose coach focused on empowering Muslim women to live more fulfilled lives and achieve success on their own terms.
