12/29/2025 Don't let your emotions run your lifeI was coaching a client yesterday who’s running a big venture.
Team. Staff. Customers. Big impact. And yet her biggest struggle right now isn’t strategy or systems. It’s ego. Not ego in a loud, arrogant way. Ego in the self-centered way. Her mood. Her excitement levels. Her internal energy dictating whether she shows up. So I asked her a simple question: “If you shut this down today, how would you feel a year from now?” She didn’t hesitate. “I’d be hiding under the covers in my bed.” And then what? “I’d feel horrible.” And then what? “I’d feel deep shame… because I shouldn’t have shut it down. Everything was going well. I should’ve kept going.” That’s when it clicked. She still believes in her mission. She loves her team. She cares deeply about the people she serves. Her why is still alive. The issue wasn’t lack of passion. It was centering herself too much. Your emotions don’t get to be the CEO of your business. You don’t wait to feel motivated to take action. You take clean, committed action because you decided this matters. So instead of asking, “Do I feel excited enough today?” The work became: ✔️ Define what needs to get done weekly ✔️ Do it no matter the mood ✔️ Let the mission lead, not the moment Because when the work is bigger than you, when people are relying on you, when the impact extends beyond your feelings, making it about yourself becomes a liability. This client already sees this is a pattern for her. Awareness is there. Now the leadership muscle is being built. If you’re building something meaningful and notice your emotions constantly threatening to derail it, this is the work I do with my clients. ✨ My coaching container is starts in January. ✨ I’m still offering free consultations this week Your purpose deserves steadiness, not ego driven sabotage.
