Take Abdur Rahman ibn Awf (RA):
One of the wealthiest companions of the Prophet ﷺ, known for his business genius.

He once migrated to Madinah with nothing—and was offered financial help.

He refused and said, “Just show me the market.”

He built a thriving business from scratch, stayed deeply committed to his faith, and gave immense amounts in charity—sometimes entire caravans of wealth at once.

Was he content? Absolutely.

Was he ambitious? Completely.

Was he detached from outcomes? Yes—because he knew the results come from Allah.

And still, he gave his absolute best in the effort.

That’s the energy we’re called to live in.
