6/5/2026 Compare and DespairHave you ever looked at someone else’s life and thought:
“Why is this so easy for them and so hard for me?” One of my clients was doing exactly that. She was comparing her challenges to someone else’s and wondering why her path seemed heavier, harder, and more complicated. Comparison is often our brain arguing with reality. Suffering comes when we resist what is and wish reality were different. Your work is not to manage someone else’s journey. Your work is to become the person who can handle your own. What we know for certain is this: Everyone gets tested. No one gets a free pass. Some tests are visible. Some are hidden. Some are temporary. Some last years. But every single person is carrying something. As Muslims, we have an additional layer of peace available to us. We trust that Allah chooses our tests with perfect wisdom. The One who created us knows exactly what will strengthen us, grow us, purify us, and bring us closer to Him. Allah does not randomly assign hardships. He tailors them. Specifically. Intentionally. Wisely. When we compare our test to someone else’s, we often forget that Allah knows things we cannot see. Their test is designed for them. Yours is designed for you. Instead of asking: “Why do they have it easier?” Try asking: “What is Allah teaching me through this?” That question will move you forward. Comparison keeps you stuck. Curiosity creates growth. If you’re feeling stuck in comparison, self-doubt, or questioning why your journey looks different than everyone else’s, I’d love to help. Email [email protected] to book your free consultation call.
