11/1/2025 CommitmentYour brain 🧠 doesn’t like commitment — and it’s sneakier than you think.
One of my clients came to her session frustrated. We had clarity on what she wanted to do. We had laid out the action steps. But this week, she’d show up saying, “I didn’t get to it… I got caught up with other things.” We coached on it — and what came up was fascinating. She could have taken the steps, she did have the time, she just found ways to avoid it. Her brain didn’t want to commit to the idea 💡 she had decided on. It was scared of being all in. So it kept her busy with everything except what mattered most. That’s what the brain does. It loves the comfort of dabbling, testing, trying. But commitment? That feels risky. It’s kind of like dating vs. getting married 💍 Even when you know this is the right person, your brain will keep offering doubts. “What if it doesn’t work out?” “Maybe there’s something better out there?” And the truth is — those thoughts don’t stop after marriage either. Even years later, with kids and a home, your brain will still occasionally whisper, “Are you sure?” That’s because the brain is wired to avoid perceived danger — and commitment feels dangerous. Neuroscience tells us that the brain’s default mode network is designed to keep us safe by favoring the known over the unknown. And commitment — even to something good — feels like stepping into the unknown. But here’s the thing: nothing extraordinary happens without commitment. You can’t build a meaningful marriage, a business, or a purpose-driven life if you’re only half in. In The Purpose Program, this is one of the biggest things we work on -- figuring out what your purpose is and helping your brain stop sabotaging you from fully committing to it. Because the moment you commit, everything changes. Your focus sharpens. 🗡️ Your energy aligns. 🔋 And your brain finally learns that safety can exist inside commitment too. 🩵 If you’re ready to figure out your purpose — and stay committed to it — come join The Purpose Program. 🗓️ The deadline to schedule your free consultation for my Purpose Program is November 17 — so you can step into the new year with direction, clarity and purpose.
