4/1/2026 Bad DealYour brain will try to sell you a very convincing deal:
“Be disappointed now and don’t go for it.” It sounds protective. Responsible, even. Because the alternative is trying, putting in effort and possibly being disappointed later. So your brain says: “Let’s just avoid all of that and feel a small disappointment now.” But look closer. Option 1: You feel disappointed now You don’t go for your goal You guarantee you won’t achieve it Option 2: You go for it You might feel disappointed along the way You might achieve it One path guarantees failure. The other offers a real possibility of success. And yet your brain insists the first one is safer. It tells you it’s protecting you from a bigger disappointment later. But the bigger disappointment isn’t failure. It’s never growing. Never learning. Never becoming the person capable of achieving what you want. Allah (SWT) tells us: وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَانِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ “And that man will have nothing except what he strives for.” (Qur’an 53:39) Your results are tied to your striving, not your avoiding. Your brain is wired for efficiency, not fulfillment. It will always offer you the easiest, most energy-saving path. But the life you want requires you to feel discomfort and move anyway. The people who create results aren’t fearless. They’re just willing to feel: doubt fear disappointment without letting those emotions decide their future. They don’t take the brain’s first offer. They question it. They see it for what it is: A bad deal. And they decide, on purpose, to go for it anyway. I tell my clients this all the time: Success is inevitable if you never quit. Once you decide you are someone who doesn’t quit, you remove failure from the equation. At that point, it’s no longer if you’ll succeed, it’s just when. If you’re ready to stop taking the safe path that’s keeping you stuck, and start building the mindset that actually gets you results I invite you to book a free consultation with me.
