Ramadan-A Month of Transformation

One of the most beautiful things about Islam is how it prioritizes reflection and growth. Every year, we’re given an entire month—Ramadan—not just to fast, but to reset, realign, and elevate ourselves.

Ramadan is not a one-time event; it’s a built-in system for transformation. It’s an annual opportunity to take a deep breath, assess where we are, and course-correct for where we want to be. Just like in coaching, where we pause, reflect, and create intentional change, Ramadan calls us to step back from distractions and focus on what truly matters.

What if we approached our personal growth with the same mindset? What if we saw our goals, habits, and even our mindset as something that deserves annual review and refinement—just like we do in Ramadan?

As we prepare for this sacred month, let’s start reflecting today:
✨ What do you want to change in your life?
✨ Where do you need to realign with your values?
✨ How can you use this month to become the person you’re meant to be?

Ramadan is a gift, but transformation doesn’t happen automatically. It happens when we engage with it intentionally. Let’s get ready to make the most of it.

What’s one thing you want to shift this Ramadan?

Email me for a free consultation to see how you can use this Ramadan to see where you are and what you can achieve🌟

Trying a Little Is Not the Same as Trying a Lot

We tell ourselves, “At least I tried.” But did we really?

There’s a big difference between dipping a toe in the water and actually swimming 🏊

Sometimes we try just enough to say we did—so we can protect ourselves from disappointment. We make a half-hearted attempt, and when it doesn’t work, we think, “See? I knew it wouldn’t happen.” But was it a real attempt? Or was it just a way to shield ourselves from failure?

The truth is, trying a lot is terrifying.

I remember in law school, classmates would say things like, “Oh, I didn’t do well on that brief because I did it last minute,” or “I didn’t really prepare for my arguments—that’s why I did badly.” And I would always ask (the coach in me was always there 😂), “Why didn’t you? What were you doing instead?”

Every time, it was a mixed excuse cocktail: “I got tired. I went out with friends. I got distracted.”

One day, I told a friend the hard truth: “These are all things you’re doing because you’re scared. If you actually tried and still didn’t do well, it would feel like proof that you’re not good enough. So instead, you hold back—because then you can say, ‘It’s not me, it’s just that I didn’t try hard enough. If I really put in the effort, I would’ve gotten an A.’”

Yeah, but you already decided not to get the A. And you made sure you didn’t.

At the beginning of law school, I had a different mindset. I’ve been an A student my entire life, so I told myself, “I’m going to ignore what everyone says. This is just another phase of school. I’m older, I’m prepared, and it should be like any other academic challenge—not impossible to excel in.”

And so I gave law school 100%—just like I always had since elementary school all the way through undergrad.

I didn’t hold back to protect myself from disappointment. I went all in. And it paid off—I graduated Magna Cum Laude and did well every single year.

And now, as a business owner, I still give things my all. But sometimes, even when I try 100%, the results don’t turn out as expected. The difference now? Instead of retreating or making excuses, I sit down and evaluate everything. If I see that I truly didn’t hold back, I don’t feel disappointed—I feel proud. Because I know I’ve learned so much, and I’ve grown wiser just by giving my full effort.

“And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives, and that his effort is going to be seen.” (Qur’an 53:39-40)

Your effort matters. But only if it’s real effort.

So be honest with yourself—what’s something in your life that you say you’ve tried, but deep down, you know you haven’t given it your all?

Email me for a free consultation to see how you can manage fear and go all in and your goals 🚀

Networking Event in NYC

I was invited to attend the annual networking event hosted by the Muslim Business Association at Baruch College, and I have to say—it was such an inspiring experience!

Meeting so many bright, ambitious young women who are eager to explore their potential and make an impact was truly energizing. The curiosity, drive, and thoughtfulness in our conversations reminded me how powerful it is to have spaces where Muslim women can connect, learn, and support one another.

A huge thank you to the MBA at Baruch for organizing this event and for creating opportunities for students to build a strong future—for themselves and for their communities. Excited to see where these incredible women go next!

The Fuel to Keep Going on Your Purpose

If you’re trying to live your purpose and it happens to be different from anyone in your circle, it can feel almost impossible to continue without support. The brain hates doing scary, unfamiliar things. And pursuing a path that no one around you understands? That’s terrifying to the brain.

This is why so many people give up—not because their purpose wasn’t right for them, but because they simply ran out of fuel.

The beauty of today’s world is that we’re more connected than ever. You can find the right support. Whether it’s a coach who meets with you weekly to keep you going or a group of like-minded people who remind you why you started, that consistent check-in is what keeps you from quitting.

Even the strongest believers need support. Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“The wind does not break a tree that has strong roots, but it uproots the one that stands alone.”

Who you surround yourself with matters. If you don’t have the right people around you, it’s easy to lose momentum. But when you have someone consistently checking in, reminding you of your why, and keeping you accountable, it’s like getting refueled every week.

You don’t have to struggle in isolation. That weekly check-in is your rest stop, refueling you to get back out there. Without it, the journey feels too long, too exhausting. And that’s when people start telling themselves:

“Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.”

But what if it was? What if you were just missing the right support?

This is exactly why I coach Muslim women—to be that built-in support system for you, so you don’t have to give up on the purpose that Allah placed in your heart.

If you’re trying to do something different and need that fuel to keep going, let’s talk. Don’t quit on yourself just because you’re trying to do it alone.

Same Story, Two Realities

If you ask a couple in an abusive marriage what their marriage is like, you’ll get two completely different answers.

The abuser might say everything is fine—they have control, things go their way, and they get what they want.

The abused, on the other hand, would say they feel trapped, powerless, and hurt.

Same marriage. Polar opposite experiences.

Now, think about your own life. You might be in a situation—a job, a relationship, a mindset—that looks one way to you but completely different to someone else. Maybe others see red flags you’ve normalized. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself this is just how it is.

That’s why reflection is so important. You have to make sure your situation is truly serving you. Does it support your well-being? Allow you to grow? Benefit you in the long run?

Islam teaches us to always assess where we are and ensure it aligns with justice and goodness. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed person.”
The companions asked, “O Messenger of Allah, we understand helping the oppressed, but how do we help the oppressor?”
He replied, “By preventing him from oppression.”

Sometimes, helping yourself means recognizing that something isn’t serving you—and having the courage to change it.

Are you in a situation that truly benefits you, or just one you’ve gotten used to?

Email me for a free consultation, and let’s explore where you are today and where you want to be.

The Best Time to Bring Your Purpose to Life

The world is shifting in ways we’ve never seen before. Change is happening on a grand scale, and more than ever, people are looking for better—better products, better services, better ways of living. They’re intentional about where they spend their time, money, and energy.

And that means this is the best time to show up fully. To bring out your purpose, breathe life into your ideas 💡 and contribute to the massive transformation happening all around us.

Islam has always been a faith of action. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”

Throughout history, Muslims have brought their ideas to life in ways that changed the world—whether it was scholars who revolutionized knowledge, traders who introduced ethical business practices, or entrepreneurs who built industries.

Think of Rufaida Al-Aslamia, a pioneering Muslim woman who lived during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. She is considered the first Muslim nurse and one of the earliest medical practitioners in Islam. She didn’t just practice medicine—she built something entirely new. She established and led the first mobile medical units, training other women in medicine and caregiving. She organized field hospitals during battles, personally treating the wounded and ensuring structured medical care was available to those in need. Beyond battlefield medicine, she set up care centers in Medina to serve the sick and the poor, creating the foundation for organized healthcare in the Muslim world. She didn’t wait for permission—she saw a need, stepped up, and created a system that served her community in a way no one else had before.

So if there’s an idea in you, something that’s been waiting to come out—now is the time. The world needs what you have to offer.

Email me for a free consultation, and let’s explore how to make your purpose tangible.

Decolonizing Your Mindset: Reclaiming Your Power

Many of us unknowingly carry beliefs that were never truly ours. Ideas about success, self-worth, productivity, and even purpose—shaped by colonial, capitalist, and individualistic systems—can pull us away from the values we actually hold as Muslims.

Decolonizing your mindset means unlearning these external definitions and reclaiming a way of thinking that aligns with your faith, values, and unique purpose.

What Does a Colonized Mindset Look Like?
• Believing your worth is tied to how much you produce.
• Defining success only through financial or status-driven achievements.
• Feeling disconnected from your identity because it doesn’t fit mainstream norms.
• Prioritizing individualism over community care and collective growth.

What Does a Decolonized Mindset Look Like?
• Recognizing that your worth is intrinsic—Allah (SWT) created you with purpose.
• Defining success by how well you fulfill your amanah (trust) in this life.
• Honoring your unique identity instead of molding yourself to external standards.
• Shifting from hyper-independence to ummah-centered growth—where we lift each other up.

Allah (SWT) reminds us:

“And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you…” (Qur’an 11:113)

When we internalize oppressive narratives—whether about our faith, identity, or purpose—we lean toward something that does not serve us. True liberation is in aligning with the wisdom Allah has already given us.

The Benefits of a Decolonized Mindset
• Deep inner peace—because your worth isn’t tied to external validation.
• Confidence in your identity—because you define success on your own terms.
• Stronger connection to your faith—because your mindset aligns with tawakkul (trust in Allah).

Decolonizing your mindset is a lifelong journey, but every step toward it is a step toward true empowerment.

What’s one belief you had to unlearn in order to align with your values?

Responding vs. Reacting: The Hidden Root of Our Reactions

Have you ever found yourself snapping at small things, overreacting, or feeling constantly on edge? It happens to all of us. And often, it’s a sign that something deeper is bothering us—something unresolved that is spilling out in ways we don’t intend.

Reacting is immediate and emotional, while responding is intentional and measured.

Islam teaches us the power of self-restraint. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The strong man is not the one who can wrestle, but the one who controls himself when angry.”

But here’s the thing: If we’re stuck in a cycle of reacting, simply trying to control it won’t work.

We first have to ask: What is making me so reactive?
• Is there an emotion I haven’t fully processed?
• Is there a situation in my life that is draining me?
• Is there something I’m avoiding that needs to be addressed?

Once we heal the root cause, responding instead of reacting becomes much easier. Self-awareness is key. The next time you find yourself reacting, pause and reflect: What is this really about?

Then, work on both healing what’s underneath and practicing intentional responses. The more we do this, the more we embody true strength—the kind that allows us to act with wisdom instead of impulse.

Have you ever noticed this pattern in your own life? What helped you break out of it?

Email me to schedule your free one hour consultation to see where you are and where you want to be.

The Vulnerability Hangover: When Your Brain Hits the Brakes

You finally do something that takes courage--
You share something personal with a loved one.
You put your business idea out into the world.
You step into a bigger role in your career.

And then… your body crashes.

Your heart is still pounding.
Your stomach feels unsettled.
Your brain just wants to shut down—crawl under a blanket, delete everything, disappear for a bit.

This isn’t self-doubt. It’s your nervous system trying to recover. You just did something that required energy, courage, and exposure—now your brain wants to retreat like a turtle back into its shell.

But here’s the thing: this feeling is temporary.

Imam Al-Ghazali رحمه الله said:
“Do not be sad when others do not appreciate your struggle. Remember, the One who truly matters is always watching.”

Your job isn’t to avoid this feeling. It’s to ride it out without letting it dictate your next move. Let your body regulate. Take deep breaths. Go for a walk. Hydrate. Let the adrenaline settle.

And most importantly—don’t undo what you just did.

Because the next time you put yourself out there, it won’t feel as intense. Your capacity for courage grows every time you use it.

Have you ever felt this? What helped you move through it?

Email me to schedule your free one hour consultation to see where you are and how we can get you where you want to be.

What if believing was just as easy as not believing?

We don’t realize it, but we spend just as much energy doubting ourselves as we would believing in what’s possible.

The brain thinks that not believing is more realistic. It tells you, “Be careful. Don’t get your hopes up. What if it doesn’t work?” But in reality, not believing is just a defense mechanism—a way to avoid disappointment and conserve energy.

Believing in something new feels harder because the brain prefers to stay comfortable. It doesn’t want to spend energy on something uncertain. But comfort isn’t the goal—growth is.

Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Quran:
“And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely upon Him.” (3:159)

Trusting that something is possible and going for it is part of tawakkul—putting in the effort and leaving the outcome to Allah.

So, if you’re already spending energy doubting yourself, why not redirect that energy to believing in yourself instead? Imagine what could happen if you did.

Email me to schedule your free one hour consultation to see where you are and how we can get you where you want to be.
