12/13/2025 Anxious MathEver notice what your brain does right when you start going after something you want?
Before you even take the next step, it starts doing anxious math: What if I get it and it’s stressful? What if it’s harder than I think? What if it takes more of me than I have? You have to pause and ask your brain one simple question: Do I want this result or not? If the answer is yes, then there is no logical reason to spiral about how awful it will be if it works. That anxiety isn’t intuition. It’s resistance to change. Your brain doesn’t want discomfort. It doesn’t want uncertainty. And it definitely doesn’t want a new identity, even if that identity is exactly what you want. So it starts subtly trying to convince you that you don’t really want the thing at all. And this is where self-sabotage sneaks in: • You don’t do the work consistently • You underprepare for the interview or presentation • You hesitate at the moment that matters • You fumble opportunities you actually care about Not because you’re incapable. But because your brain is trying to keep things the same. There is nothing wrong with wanting something that will require effort, growth and discomfort. Hard does not mean wrong. Stress does not mean stop. This is exactly the work I do inside my 1:1 coaching container starting in January. We clarify what you truly want to achieve, and then we make sure your brain doesn’t quietly block you from it. By bringing its patterns into your awareness, you regain control. By the end of 2026, you won’t just hope something changed. You’ll have tangible results from what you decided to go after. If this resonated, I’m offering free consultations in December. You don’t need a different desire. You need a different relationship with your brain.
